Nurturing Our Community & Environment
We are building a not-for-profit, ecological farm to bring high quality produce to our neighbors in need. We are fostering vital skills to create a brighter future.
Our Plan
-

Phase 1: Laying the Foundation (✓)
Incorporated as a not-for-profit organization, applied for federal charitable status.
Signed a lease for 0.5 acres of farmland hosted by Wine Country Farms based on a shared vision of a more just and sustainable food system.
Connected with a local food bank network to discuss crop lists and distribution.
-

Phase 2: Fundraising and Preparation (Current)
Inviting individual donations and working to secure grant funding to reach our initial fundraising goal of $20,000.
Reaching out for in-kind donations of farm materials such as seeds and equipment.
Designing a detailed crop list and layout for the farm.
Spreading the word to recruit volunteers for when occupancy begins.
-

Phase 3: Building and Planting (March 2027)
Installing the first infrastructure on the farm with the help of volunteers such as a gravel driveway, tool shed, and water tank.
Laying out planting beds and pathways. Preparing ground and incorporating soil amendments as needed.
Planting our very first food crops, cover crops, and native plants!
-

Phase 4: Harvest and Grow (Spring through Fall 2027)
Celebrating our very first harvest.
Donating all food crops as they ripen through local food bank networks and shelters.
Continuing to refine and expand operations on the farm as well as networks of donors and volunteers.
Begin hosting educational events and opportunities as the farm develops.
